Re: How to run the Dragon at double speed
BTW Steve should there be a quote mark after the SOUND instruction? No. The extra quote mark after the SOUND instruction would result in a syntax error (?SN ERROR) being displayed and a return to the BASIC command prompt without restoring the Dragon to normal speed mode. The syntax error message wo...

Re: How to run the Dragon at double speed
With this one: POKE65495,0:POKE65497,0:SOUND1,255":POKE65496,0:POKE65494,0 I got the tone but a garbled screen. It was non responsive to BREAK. After hammering the BREAK key for some time I got a garbled boot screen and silence was restored. I pressed restore and the boot screen came back. I typed ...

Re: XRoar on Android
I tried on my mobile phone now, when choosing Open As -> File I was able to choose XRoar (for a .cas file). What kind of file are you trying to open? A .bas file. My idea was to write BASIC programs and asm code on my Android device using a text editor and load them as .bas files under XROAR emulat...

Re: XRoar on Android
I don't know if Ultra Explorer is on Google Play Store, but it is on the first hit on Google :) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=39772628 I installed Ultra Explorer but there is no " Open With " feature available. There is a "Open As" feature, but the XROAR emulator app is not displ...

Re: XRoar on Android
- The sound is stuttering, so you might be better off disabling it in your xroar.conf, using "ao null". The sound stuttering seems to have been almost completely eliminated by adding "-fast-sound" to the xroar.conf file. The sound very rarly stutters when using the BASIC PLAY and SOUND commands ent...

Re: XRoar on Android
Well done!! I am using Android 2.1.1 and it is working fine, but I noticed a few issues: When typing for example PRINT"TEST", the symbol " is not recognised. This can be fixed by adding "-kbd-translate" to your xroar.conf file. Ocassionally, letters typed in keyboard mode do not appear in the green...

Re: XRoar on Android
If there is enough interest I can think of upgrading the package to XRoar 0.32. I (for one) would love to see the Android version updated and the sound stutter fixed. IMHO XROAR is such a good emulator that all platform versions deserve to be regularly updated. The on-screen "hot keys" I haven't lo...

Re: I got a Dragon 32!
Not tried that. I'll give it a go and let you know. I'm assuming it can't damage the hardware in any way. Highly improbable. In 30+ years I have never heard of a Dragon computer being damaged by the double speed poke. I have run some of my own Dragons (32 and 64) continually at double speed for sev...
