Re: 5.25 floppy question
I don't know if it's really necessary, but you may need to put some tape on the right write protection hole, to maje the drive think you're using a DD 3,5" disk. I found a 3,5" drive that works with the DragonDOS controller! I looked through some old boxes of 3,5" PC diskettes, and collected all DD...

Re: 5.25 floppy question
Well, the High Density drive seems broken, with similar symptoms as Stig is referring to further up here. SK Error, disk spinning, head not moving (but not jammed, as it moves freely when pushed). I guess some of my 3.5" drives are the next up

Re: 5.25 floppy question
Rob,
I'm using an old DD PC drive. I do have a newer HD PC drive as well.... Maybe I should try that....

Re: 5.25 floppy question
Hehe, it suddenly appears to me that it has been a loooong time since I have used floppy disks..... I can't remember if I can take High Density (HD) disks and format them as Double Density (DS). So the question is: can I take disks marked DS/HD and format/use them as DS/DD with the Dragon? I'll ans...

Looking for a program to read tape file header
Hi. I vaguely remember that back in the eighties I had a small program that I used to read the header of a cassette program file, and output the start address of the code, the length and the EXEC-address. Does anyone have that program? I just got a disk drive up and working with my Dragon, and would...

Re: 5.25 floppy question
Thanks for the help Rob! Here's a small video of the Panasonic drive working with your cable and a DragonDos controller on a Tano Dragon. https://vimeo.com/124643952 I'll make a "full" cable later some time. I actually found a stable of seven 3.5" drives of various brands and models in a box I had s...

Re: 5.25 floppy question
It works!!!! I made a simpler cable, but using robcfg's instructions. dragondiskcable.jpg And I'm happy to say that it works with my old Panasonic 5.25" drive. I had to fiddle a bit with some of the jumpers. ju55jumpers.jpg The picture above shows the default jumper positions. The obvious thing was ...

Re: 5.25 floppy question
Rob!
Thank you so much.
I'm waiting for some additional connectors, and when I get them I'll modify the PC cable I have got, and try it out. I will share the results here. I'm a bit concerned about that re-calibrating of the controller, though....
