Re: Text Adventure Creator Program - was there one?
The early adventure games from Dragon Data were written in BASIC, as were the Salamander Software ones. Some were generated as machine-code files, such as Adventure International's/Scott Adams'. Many BASIC adventure games were created in "tokenised" BASIC and might be not so easy to read because a l...

Re: Text Adventure Creator Program - was there one?
The only other way of doing it would be to break into Colossal Cave Adventure and get a glimpse of the listing, that woud involve more knowledge than I have though. … And that would only be possible if the game was written in BASIC. But I Believe such tools generate kind of assembly code (or pseudo...

Re: How to transfer Telewriter files?
Thank you very much for this tip, Ciaraan. I had never heard about that AWK command, so I will have to try it and see what result I'll be getting. I will let you know when I'm done.

Re: How to transfer Telewriter files?
Hello Ciaran, Sorry about bothering you again about this, but would you by any chance have an idea and/or a solution to the issue I explained last time (when transfering Telewriter - disk version - files to PC text files)? Every line of text is followed by at least 9 CR codes, which would take a hug...

Re: How to transfer Telewriter files?
... Ok, using the following shortcut command: C:\Users\ldepeux\Downloads\Dragon\XROAR64\xroar.exe -machine dragon32 -keymap fr -kbd-translate -lp-file XRoar-prtout.txt I could get a loaded TW document printed as "prtout.txt" in the same folder as the XRoar executable. The only thing that is annoying...

Re: How to transfer Telewriter files?
... But it does! (at least under Dragon DOS) I've just tried once more to make sure)
Does this mean there are no changes needed and I may try the same under TW?
I will have a go right now.

Re: How to transfer Telewriter files?
My keyboard is an AZERTY one and I use a MS-DOS system (WIN 10 at work, XP Home... at home!).

Re: How to transfer Telewriter files?
Ah... that's much better this way. Thank you very much! Then that key is referenced as 53 (and the associated display is a set of 2 semi-graphic characters, ie. ┬▓ ) <Home> is referenced as 80 (Name = Left) <Fn> + <Home> as 74 (Name = Home) <Home> + <P> as 19 (Name = P) <Fn> + <Home> + <P> as 85 (Na...

Re: How to transfer Telewriter files?
I changed the icon's command to:
C:\Users\ldepeux\Downloads\Dragon\XROAR64\xroar.exe -machine dragon32 -keymap fr -kbd-translate -C -debug-ui -1
... and, as a result, emulation just won't launch any longer!

Re: How to transfer Telewriter files?
... I knew about that key being there (!), but I had never used it and could never had told what it was here for either! So I just tried it and it obviously is an "exhibitor". Not sure what the actual use for it is, but it sure is not something one may not live without! And I believe it could be a w...
