And please note that the whole set of Channel 8 adventures is available on one of my '.VDK' files. This may be downloaded from the usual resource.

Re: Thomson's 6809 based computers

... I already knew of the PET, but not about the Super PET.
Having two processors on board is one thing, but I believe many other things will depend on chip frequency and bus efficiency. Just don't expect anything close to Dual Core's performances here!

Re: Thomson's 6809 based computers

Yes, I do agree: The Apple II was the best machine of its era... for wealthy people! Because the basic configuration (which was quite expensive already) was far from sufficient to run games Before I got access to any computer, it was everyone's dream computer. And it was so versatile many businesses...

Re: Thomson's 6809 based computers

An odd thing to say given that SSI converted many of their games to the C64, although perhaps the operative word here is 'availability'. How easy was it to obtain SSI games in France and at what cost, not forgetting the additional cost for a disc drive? During the early years of C64, disc drives we...

Re: Thomson's 6809 based computers

I believe the main reason for the Dragon getting good scores in spite of obvious technical limitations and flaws (especially in the graphics area) was the large software offering when it eventually became available in France. There was plenty of software available, as much in the gaming area as in t...

Re: Thomson's 6809 based computers

Issue 23, page 17 has a nice comparison table of computers, including the TO7 and the Dragon 32! Thank you very much for taking the time to search the actual issue! BTW, they conclude the Dragon 32 is a better buy for gaming than the Commodore 64... Maybe due to the availability of "wargames" and t...

Re: Thomson's 6809 based computers

I wonder how expensive it was compared with the Dragon? I will try to check and I might be able to shed some light here: I still have a collection of 80's French magazines ("Jeux & Stratégie") at home that might have featured some ads for this computer as well. If so, then there will be the standar...

Re: Thomson's 6809 based computers

Hello, I understand you did get a "TO 7/70" computer, or is it really "just " a "TO 7"? . Both used to be obsolete systems almost after being released. The only "added factor" they could provide was the optical pen as part of their standard features. And their keyboard was still a bit nicer than the...

Hello Kan, and welcome to this forum!

I hope you don't get angry too easily (the wrath of Kan notoriously being a rather terrible thing! ).

Re: 1000th page

Congratulations! And I really like the "shadow" effect on the pipes, which reminds me a bit of what was once achieved on "Wizball" (more shades on the latter, though, but the hardware was a bit more elaborate, too). But I'm afraid I do not like the merging of the screenshots on the Wiki page: In my ...
