Re: File2VDK anyone?
The question is the difference between the DECB file system and the Dragon Data file system. I don't know, but I wouldn't be surprised if they were similar. They are briefly explained in Graham E. Kinns' information at http://dragon32.info/ The DECB disk images in Toolshed are simple sector dumps wi...

Re: A DOSPlus Extender for Drivewire & CoCo-SDC
I have found a problem with the Becker DWRead function that has no timeout control and if Drivewire is off or AUTOLOAD.DWL doesn't exist it loops gracefully forever. This is a known issue with the Becker routines (for emulation) in HDBDOS, where they are taken from. The HDBDOS code has meanwhile go...

Re: DragonPi Project
Very neatly done! I totally approve of the spirit of not destroying the old original hardware. Is the keyboard interface your own design or do you have more info on it? I guess you can do some key mapping on the Pi (XKB?) so that you generate ctrl/tab etc with various key combinations. For instance ...

Re: Dragon 32 Repair
I get the impression that it had problems with the ROMs before I got my hands on it. IC17 was already socketed and it had two different looking ROMS in IC17 & IC18. Looking at the motherboard pics on this site, IC17 is the type shown in the MKII Issue 5 revision and then IC18 is the type shown in t...

Re: Trying to get passed square one
Hi Mark. welcome! The good thing is that your video chip (6847 VDG) and circuitry seems to work :) I don't know if a broken SAM or CPU, or even a partly broken VDG, can cause this, but I know a bad power supply can. I once powered the Dragon accidentally through the printer port from a USB port, and...

Re: Recreating the DragonPlus Board
Fabian, welcome to the forums! What a beautiful project!
Do you have the original board, or are you basing it on the photos in the wiki? What do you use for layouting?
Robcfg, by the way, what is the story of the clone boards on the wiki page?

Re: CoCo2 26-3134A with 230V~ ???
jedie, did you try out with more diodes to see what is the minimal voltage? I am thinking of using an external single-ended DC supply and to add a little voltage inverter for the negative supply to the SALT chip. The manual says the negative voltage is only used for the serial port, but when experim...

Re: Thomson's 6809 based computers
Issue 23, page 17 has a nice comparison table of computers, including the TO7 and the Dragon 32!
BTW, they conclude the Dragon 32 is a better buy for gaming than the Commodore 64... Maybe due to the availability of "wargames" and the lower price.

Re: The spinx512 board for FUZIX
The SPI interface can connect 4 slaves as-is. In principle they only need their own slave select line. This SPI interface also has separate MISO inputs, although they can also be shared. One slave select is used for the SD card, the three others go to the 20-pin "SPI" header, along with a full set o...

Re: The spinx512 board for FUZIX
This should work on a coco too no? This might push me into playing around with the dragon port of Fuzix.... Pushing the right buttons there, Brett ;) . I'll reserve a board for you! I see no reason the board won't work out of the box on any Dragon/CoCo compatible with minimum 32K internal RAM. FUZI...
