Re: 5.25" floppy disk controller

One can hope that Windows 10 would pick up a 5.25" drive; Windows 8.1 does. So don't think one need to go old school XP to get this to work. Then again, if the utils doesn't work with newer OS well then that's another matter.

Re: 5.25" floppy disk controller

How generic is the Dragon Floppy Drive in terms of being used with other disk controllers? Meaning would it be possible to connect the DFD to such interface and then use it to write back images to floppies?

5.25" floppy disk controller

Well, got hold of a Dragon floppy drive and next thing was to be able to convert disk images to 5.25" which of course wasn't the easiest so started to look around whats available of usb based controllers and well there is actually hardware available! KryoFlux, the renowned forensic floppy controller...

Re: Dragon 32 jumping to buff mode spontaneously?

The Dragon composite isn't the best but I would say that a proper converter would be RetroTINK 2X which I hopefully will get myself by the end of this week. I'll primary be using it together with C64 and Amiga; but I'll report how well it goes. Issue here is that the signal output from the Dragon is...

Re: A next-generation Dragon?

Agree the cartridge slot shouldn't be removed and while there might not be that much enhancement that can be done; but what about having an internal cartridge slot for smaller cards which could be hidden inside the case?

Would anyone be able to point to parts/kit to put together a TRS/DD Diagnostic Cartridge since we have the ROM's available here on DA?

Re: A next-generation Dragon?

So this is what we have so far then in terms of inspiration of hardware that we would like to see squeezed into a new motherboard for this next gen Dragonstein: CPU: Hitachi 6309 or FPGA ( CoCo3FPGA / CoCoDEV ) Graphics: MC6847 + FPGA ( CoCoVGA / AtomGodilVideo has some interesting features) + Sprit...

Re: A next-generation Dragon?

An idea would be to create a wish list based on current available hardware which we would like to see included on a new mobo such as the CocoVGA, DragonMMC, additional audio chip which currently being done via cartridge, more memory maybe 128kb (Dragon Plus board), and what else can be found from fo...

Re: Dragon 32 jumping to buff mode spontaneously?

Could you post an image to show how the screen looks like when you turn it on. As mentioned, if the colors are off it might be the chip if you got garbage on the screen then it most likely is the RAM issue. Or something else but an image would help out.
