Re: I got the HxC SD Card Floppy Emulator today

OK I have success ! I found that if I format the disks to 350k first, then I can then format them to 720k

I have no idea why but it works :)

Now I just need to find a long ribbon cable with no blank pins so I can hook up 2 drives together !

Thanks for all the help :)

Re: I got the HxC SD Card Floppy Emulator today

Hmmm, I tried that and am getting a CC error

All my 3.5" floppy disks are the HD type and I have covered the hole to make them DD

Could that be the problem ?

Thanks again Pere !

Re: I got the HxC SD Card Floppy Emulator today

OK I apologise for my ignorance. When I format the disks in the 3.5" drive I am getting 175104 bytes free. Can I format them to 720k and how do I go about doing that ? Thanks for your continued help :)

P.S. I am using Dos 4.1

Re: I got the HxC SD Card Floppy Emulator today

Well I've been messing about with this for well over an hour now and I am at a loss. I have a single 3.5" PC floppy drive connected to the dragon and using a straight (untwisted) ribbon cable. I am getting CC and RF errors when trying to formate the disk and cannot find a sweet spot while adjusting ...

Re: I got the HxC SD Card Floppy Emulator today

Thanks for the reply Pere.

That all sounds pretty easy. If I am just connecting one 3.5" drive (for now) can I just use my normal "unmodified" ribbon cable ?

I will definitely give this a try :)

Re: Disk drives and controllers for the Dragon 32/64

Thanks for the replys guys. My friend is burning me 2 eeproms, one with 1.1c and another with Dosplus 5.0. So I should have a good choice and can switch them out if needed :)

Re: Disk drives and controllers for the Dragon 32/64

Rather than start a new thread, I thought I would post here as it is related. What is the definitive version of DragonDOS ? I recently got an original Dragon disk controller cart with DOS version 1 on it and want to put a new eeprom in it with the "best" version of DOS on there. What is everyones op...
