Re: DWLOAD - DriveWire for everybody

@jedie Looking at the log you're getting the same 'Handler #0 has died' problem I was getting. I must not mount a disk in slot 0 with real hardware. It took me days to figure this out. One of the disks needs to be associated with a file. It could be any number, not necessarily 0. When it works, you ...

Re: Mixing two different graphic modes

Hope someone will attempt to begin such a hardware project. I haven't been a member for very long so I've missed out on quite a lot but I remember reading somewhere that prime had an rgb board for the Acorn that he was hoping to try on the Dragon. I made my own rgb board years ago for a digital mon...

Re: All of my Basic games in one zip

2048 is a tough game, Jim. I like it though :-)

The highest scoring tile I've made so far is a feeble 256.

Re: Mixing two different graphic modes

@pser1 For example, if I run your first PMODE34 program in old and new xroar versions side by side, there is a definite difference in stability in the position of the split line. (Especially if you run a BASIC loop like 10 GOTO 10) But you're right, once we figured out that the scan keyboard routine...

Re: Mixing two different graphic modes

@sixxie
Clean sheet now. That's pretty impressive :-)

Also pleasing to see that the split screen examples from earlier in this thread now show a similar level of flicker compared to real hardware. Can't be many emulators for any system that have this level of accuracy...

Re: DWEEBS - applications for DWLOAD - DriveWire

Have you drives in your regular Dragon set? The short answer is no, not yet. The long answer is yes, I've got a number of controllers and drives, but they are stored away and haven't been used in many years and need careful checking and cleaning. I would also like to get one of my 64K upgraded D32s...

Re: DWEEBS - applications for DWLOAD - DriveWire

Thanks for all this hard work, Pere. I can see great uses for all of these pieces of software, plus they form a handy reference for developing new ones. One thing I noticed is that the filename specified for DLOAD is strictly relative to the DriveWire folder i.e. you can't specify an absolute path l...

Re: Mixing two different graphic modes

After a bit more experimentation I've discovered the effect on the frame sync irq of clr $ff02 is noticeably different to the effect of lda $ff02, but I do think I now understand what is happening. This moment of clarity won't last so I'm writing it down before it fades :) I'm going to pretend the i...

Re: DWLOAD - DriveWire for everybody

I can confirm the DriveWire adaptor cable and dwload EPROM work really well. It should prove to be a very useful tool and I'm seriously impressed with the amount of effort that's gone into making this happen. You are probably the first DriveWire user who goes straight to DWLOAD without having played...
