Re: Issues with the driveWire interface

Thanks, that's clearer in my mind. ;) But I'm still not sure on how to start. All my tests where conducted with the DWDOS-like "quick loader" . I used the small wav file (about 8 seconds) and the file "hdbboot.dsk" loaded in slot #0 of DriveWire. Should I still use this ? I mean I don't want to load...

Re: Issues with the driveWire interface

I'm sorry but all these DOS versions and these files formats are a bit confusing for me... My plan is to run a VDK file on the Dragon. So, what DOS version should I use and what tools should I use to convert the VDK file ? I didn't know is I have to change only the VDK header or more...? In m...

Re: Issues with the driveWire interface

So I tried again yesterday. I loaded in drive 0 the hdbboot.dsk file, and in slot 1 the file Arcad01a.dsk, file found in this forum thread . Launching the dragon, typed the usual commands (CLEAR 200,&H5DFF , CLOADM , EXEC). I have some activity on the drive wire "reads" and "LSN" values, when the dr...

Re: Issues with the driveWire interface

I think I discovered the problem here, it was a problem with my nand gate circuit. After installing a new one, I tried again to initiate the drive wire link. The initial sequence boot now looks ok, but the drive wire software asks me to insert a disk into the drive #1 (the #0 is loaded with the "dos...

Re: Issues with the driveWire interface

Ok, I tried again the DW interface but I still have some issues. First, I connected everything (DW adapter and sound tape cables on the Dragon). On DriveWire4, I created the server (Coco 2, 57600 speed and defaults values.), then I inserted the "hdbboot.dsk" into the server disk 0 (see screenshot). ...

Re: Infocom games

I know that some Coco cartridges can work on the Dragon, but for the floopy games I don't know.... :?: But it's a very interesting discovery !! ;)

Re: Infocom games

An other way is actually to use a modern "interpreter" for these games. Infocom created a virtual machine, the " Z-machine " to simplify the porting to the various range of 80's computers. The game file itself is the same on every machines, only a small executable (the "interpreter") is different fo...

Unfortunately no, I just have the "MC687CP AN48304" chip. All the other sockets are empty. :(

Is the small square board on the middle of the Dragon 200-E an RGB video card ?

Re: Hello !

Here is a picture of the back of the daughter board. I'll take better pictures when re-opening the Dragon.

As you can see, some wires and resistors were added. Some resistors are also located near the DIN connector.

You are right, maybe it's a board used to get the RGB signals...
