Re: History of Home Computers

Hello Duncan, thanks for the updated information. I was wondering why you were commissioned to write the BIOS. My guess is that you were based close to Motorola's semi-conductor base in Strathclyde, Scotland and that you had some previous experience with the chipset?

Re: WTB Dragon and game carts

Mine is payed and on it's way. Cadigital has plenty of brand new Tano Dragon 64's left - more than 100. I will post some photos and compare the boards between the old and the new when it arrives.

Re: History of Home Computers

Mettoy being new to the computer industry, it is natural to think that they sought inspiration from existing designs. In addition, Tandy did not hold any patents valid in the UK for the CoCo, so it was probably a calculated risk from Mettoy. To avoid legal action, they also made several changes and ...

Re: History of Home Computers

At the Wikipedia page for the CoCo, the following statement is made: "The Dragon 32 and 64 computers were British clones of the CoCo." Regarding the Dragon 32, there is little doubt about the cloning, but what about the Dragon 64? According to David Linsley's Dragon History at this site: http://www....

Re: WTB Dragon and game carts

I already have one Dragon 64 and two Dragon 32's, but I have now contacted cadigital to try to order an additional Tano Dragon 64. I think the GrandTec device described here: viewtopic.php?f=5&t=518 should be able to convert NTSC to VGA. I will keep you posted.

Re: XRoar 0.27 available

If the serial port emulation would work on Unix (Ubuntu for example), that would be great. In addition, I am sure there are a number of people on the forum (including myself) who could help testing the serial port emulation on Win7. On the Dragon64 there is an additional command DLOADM which should ...

Re: XRoar 0.27 available

Great - Well Done! :D I downloaded and tested it, and it works fine.
Maybe I am asking too much, but do you think XRoar will be able to emulate (under Win7) the RS-232 port on a Dragon 64 in a future version?
