Re: Dragon 64 repair
And that is a question that I sat for several days tracing the circuit and building a schematic for. But still it wouldn't work. Yours is a different version to mine though - it might be a Mark 1, as it has less onboard. If you want yours back to stock, however, it's really going to be a case of mak...

You can see the tell-tale sticker on the SAM chip!

Re: Dragon 64 repair
Some images of one of mine - which has Mk I MMU written on the bottom, but which actually checks out to be Bob's Mk 2 board.

Re: Dragon 32 for sale
OK, I've had my burst of nostalgia... and now my Dragon setup is going.I'm offering it here first then going to the likes of eBay if there's no interest. I can't get J and K on ... so 3 cartridges are DASM/DEMON, HI-RES and Dragon Chess. Cassettes are COMPUTERVOICE, Return of the Ring, PSS Dragbug,...

Re: Dragon 64 repair
Personally, not a lot, but I believe we both bought from his son, so he might have some background.
Very good that you took the pictures. Were the additional 8 RAM chips all 4164? Think your upgrade would be 128K.

Re: Dragon 64 repair
Also just noticed your comment about additional RAM chips being soldered on. That would have been making it either 128 or 256K. So the board was definitely paired with the mod board. FWIW, I've not got either of the 32K machines working yet either. The old wire wrap is just another layer on the aged...

Re: Dragon 64 repair
I will have to check out the NDUG articles. The nodding of the 32 and 64 was rather different. I recognised this board by the sticker on the SAM BTW. One of my 32s from that seller also has it.

Re: Dragon 64 repair
Sorry. Just found your top of board pic. Strangely, you only have 4164 chips in there. So it is odd that the additional boards are included, as that motherboard does not look modded. Please keep those other boards safe. They are important to the history of these machines and Bob Hall, who was rather...

Re: Dragon 64 repair
I thought so. You have Bob Hall's other MMU computer. I have the two Dragon 32 ones from the same seller. Your board may have tiny mods on it, so you'll need to really scrutinise it. Mike is our current expert on this. Basically, these computers were modded to have 256K RAM and be able to run OS9 le...
