Re: A mathematical demo
So it proves that DIVQ is rather correct. IMHO It is worth to publish one of the pictures.robcfg wrote:It’s a blessing I kept the pictures I took from the screen with the different results
They all match on all four configurations.

Re: A mathematical demo
I'm surprised myself! Not about the timing - Darren A documented all that and he's generally pretty reliable - but that XRoar's DIV instructions work as they should. I basically never had a test case for them :) Do you use both DIVD and DIVQ, or only one of them? Do you exercise them well, e.g. mak...

Re: A mathematical demo
Thanks a lot! :) The benchmark results are updated - http://litwr2.atspace.eu/pi/pi-spigot-benchmark.html XRoar is surprisingly accurate even with 6309. A lot of thanks to its developer too. It is interesting that your hardware could work at the double speed without problems. Does your iron actually...

Re: A mathematical demo
Thank you very much! Your results show that XRoar is very accurate, it gives almost the same numbers. Would you like to get results for 3000 digits? It is the most precious values. We also got an interesting collateral result - The Dragon works stable in the fast mode (that is without DRAM refreshin...

Re: A mathematical demo
Bump! Could anybody help me and run my pi-calculator with the real silicon 6809? Indeed tests with 6309 can give us even more interesting results.

It is at https://litwr.livejournal.com/1396.html. I will be glad to get more information about these processors, corrections are also appreciated. This article is a part of CPU reviews - https://litwr.livejournal.com/.
And BTW what is the best web site dedicated to Motorola 6800 family?
Thank you

Re: A mathematical demo
Thank you. However the data for 6309 may not be too accurate. I am using Xroar. There is another problem with it. Pi-demo uses Dragon at its maximum speed at 1.78 MHz. So it may not work with real iron because there is DRAM regeneration problem. Pi-demo uses continuous memory interval and this shoul...
