Re: I got a Dragon 32!

Well it is this version of the Dragon 32 Motherboard: http://archive.worldofdragon.org/index.php?title=File:Dragon32_PCB_Top_(PC10087_Issue5).jpg Mine had a few labels on some of the chips. It has Z105226 on a stamped piece of paper just above IC26. It had a long sticker with a handwritten AT on it ...

Re: I got a Dragon 32!

Hi Zephyr. Yes the warranty stickers are all still in place; so consequently I'm not yet sure which board is in there. Before I can open it up I should really check with my brother in law (whose machine this actually is, it's on long term loan to me) to see if he minds me opening it up with a view t...

Re: I got a Dragon 32!

The thing is Alastair I only got I/O errors when the tape was badly adjusted. What's been happening recently is that the loading process has been working fine, I have seen the loading screens of several programs, but midway through the cursor stops flashing, and the screen freezes. I know they are d...

Re: Games we never had

I tried the commands as described Sixxie. The first PEEK returned 253, the second PEEK returned 0. So it looks like something is wrong then I think. I worked out that the CBM basic P shift O etc doesn't work on the Dragon. Is there a way of shortening the commands? I know Acorn equipment used the fi...

Re: I got a Dragon 32!

Thanks Alastair. That combo seems to work quite well when loading from my iPad.... up to a point. It all seems to be loading and then the cursor stops flashing, the wav file ends, and nothing happens. I think I worked out why, but posted it on the wrong thread, apologies for that! Please see here: h...

Re: Games we never had

Thanks sixxie and zephyr. I shall certainly try those, and report back. At the risk of sounding a bit thick; should I put line numbers with those commands? The Dragon is a new system to me. I noticed that ? is short for print, the same as CBM Basic V2.0 (also by Microsoft), does that also extend to ...

Re: Games we never had

Still nothing will load. It gets so far through the process and then the cursor freezes, the .wav file ends, and the screen does not change. I tried Chuckie Egg, Airball and Frogger. I think I have found the problem though - BAD RAM. When I type ?MEM, I get 8492, which is rather lower than I was exp...
