Re: I got a Dragon 32!

OK, thanks everybody for your suggestions, some interesting projects out there. From having had a quick look, the closest Dragon equivalent to the likes of SD2IEC (for CBM stuff) and divIDE (for Sinclair stuff) seems to be the uDW, so that will probably be the route that I eventually take. Having se...

Re: I got a Dragon 32!

Thanks Sorchard, and Sixxie, and Rolo, for the offer of the RAM chips. I am really looking forward to having a fully working Dragon 32. In Commodore Land we have gadgets like the SD2IEC, which allows an SD card to emulate a Floppy Drive, is there any Dragon equivalent? For the VIC 20 there is also a...

Re: I got a Dragon 32!

Sorchard, no apologies required. That would be absolutely fantastic. Do you need any pictures Sorchard? Rolo, no offence, and thank you for your kind offer, but as I'm sure you'd agree, it saves sending it to Germany. Maybe if Sorchard doesn't have the DRAMS, I could still buy them from you Rolo, an...

Re: I got a Dragon 32!

Thanks Rolo, that is a fantastic offer. If I can't find anybody closer to home to do the work, then would it be OK to just send the motherboard do you think? That way postage is going to be quite a bit less. Robcfg, I shall try to get some pictures up over the next few days. I expect I have to link ...

Re: I got a Dragon 32!

Well I took the whole motherboard out and had a look at Side 1. There was a fair bit of bubbling and flaking there, but it mostly looks OK. Like I said earlier I have seen far worse in Sinclair Land. All looks the same with IC7 and IC42, except that the soldering on IC7 doesn't look quite so good, t...

Re: I got a Dragon 32!

Thank you everybody for your interest and support in this. One thing is clear in my mind; I am determined that this Dragon 32 will be saved. It is in far too good condition not to be saved. The motherboard was lovely and clean; unlike nearly every ZX Spectrum that I have ever had. Mostly they have e...

Re: I got a Dragon 32!

Maybe you want to have a look at: http://archive.worldofdragon.org/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=3144 I expanded my D32 and I've still got the original 16K RAMs. Where you from (->shipping costs)? Hi Rolo. That is certainly an impressive project that you undertook there! I'm very interested in those R...

Re: I got a Dragon 32!

The schematics don't show the second bank (IC36 - IC43). My guess is the faulty one is IC42 or IC7 (check pin 2 is connected between those two, I'm guessing at the order of the second bank). Hi Sixxie. I clicked on the link in my post and realised that it actually doesn't even work! Not sure why th...
