Re: Dragon 64 repair - a little help?

Big thanks to Sardine for recommending someone to fix my 64. It came back packaged today. There were 3 or 4 faults (including the VDU chip had gone), which I couldn't have done. A great fix and it's all working beautifully again. If anyone is interested, here's a link to the repairs that were undert...

Re: Dragon 64 repair - a little help?

Thanks for this Sardine. I have registered with the other site, but it won't let me post or even PM 'the corfiot'.

Would you be able to PM me his details please?

Re: Dragon 64 repair - a little help?

Dear all, Thanks for advice. I tried swapping chips a couple of years ago, but no success I'm afraid. I've kept looking for a decent 64 at a reasonable price on E bay, but no success. I don't think these are the problem, as the 32 works fine with them in. (I'm assuming both these chips are the same for a 32 and 64 - is this correct?) However, the 6...

Re: Dragon 64 repair - a little help?

Thanks to all above. I have never tried this sort of thing before, but I'll have a go at removing the chips one at a time, checking the contacts and replacing. I thought they were all soldered in, but from the comments, it looks like a bit of gentre screwdriver prising might work. I'd be surprised i...

Dragon 64 repair - a little help?

Hi there, Just joined the site, having just got my 64 down form the loft, not having used it for 10+ years. Is there anyone out there who could repair/suggest someone who could repair it for me at a reasonable charge? On powering up, I get the green screen, with a bit of the copyright message, but m...
