DragonData disk drive

Hi All,

I'm using a single unit disk drive from Dragondata DOS version 1.0 and when I type DSKINIT all I get back is ?NR ERROR ? what should I be checking ?

I know one of the 32's worked and displayed a screen that was scrambled to begin with but after that first time it has never displayed a picture since. The other dragon 32 didnt display anything at all so i thought i could at least try swap out the psu boards to see if it made any worked. While i do...

Regarding the Dragon 64 producing monochrome output. You state that you obtained it in 1988, if it is second-hand it could be that the previous owner modified it to produce a clearer video signal. A word of warning. Do not swap power boards between Dragon 32s and 64s, should you be thinking of swapping them around for testing purposes, because their outputs differ (+12V, 0V, & -5V on a Dragon 32, and +12V, 0V, & -12V on a Dragon 64). Check also the voltages coming from the power board. happy to do that I'll take some shots of the boards tonight but I have looked at every CAP and they all look good but then again I'm no technician so the more that can see it the better.

already tested both display modes and the cables that I am using work on the Dragon 64 fine when I try the same on the 32's they give me no display what so ever but they do respond to motor on / motor off

Hi Rink, I tested on 3 TV's 1 older CRT model, two modern LCD's same result from all of them, only display from the 64, the 32's nothing, nada, zilch :( I'm just using a standard Dragon Monitor out cable to composite on the TV's I can use a solder iron but multimeters and the like are voodoo magic t...
