it's actually mismatched timing on mode switches so instead of 57 cycles per line, do something like 59, the computer will even out the differences for you.....
Hey guys... i finally pulled and programmed an idea i have had in my head for a long time: how to artifact on PAL to provide extra colors (sorry guys no NTSC)... this trick relies on the way PAL works... what PAL does is average the color on 2 consecutive scanlines.... so what happens if we do this:...
post the code you are using to set the mode..... the coco can do some wierd stuff with mode mismatch..... are you using something like this: lda #$f0 sta $ff22 (vdg) sta $ffc3 (sam) sta £ffc5 (sam) if you hit $ffc1 it will display strangely (DMA mode if c1/c3/c5 are set) /Simon :-)
@stig... at the end of the day the c64 was an awesome machine.. (still is).... but the dragon / coco were very undersung... hence the demo fury from my part.... (along with utz making awasome tunes for what ever strange stuff we cook)... heck... no one thought we would ever cook a musical tapeloader...
