I am now using a CoCo 2 and it passes the test perfectly. Still the same problem though, enter DIR on the CoCo and it just returns an I/O ERROR.

I have triple checked the cable wiring with the diagram you posted. Also checked for continuity with a multimeter.

Don't the TV sets in your country use the PAL-M system rather than NTSC which is output by the US CoCos and Tano Dragon 64s?

You can test the PMODE 3 screen colours by loading a game such as the attached Chuckie Egg. Is it possible that the problem is with your TV? Something to keep in mind is that some LCD TVs don't generate artifact colors properly (or at all); they are really the result of the NTSC system and low-cost ...

It looks like the Tano Dragon 64 has the ROM chips marked as IC17 and IC18 on the PCB.
