Have you tried using composite video connector round the back? This should tell you whether the fault is in the TV modulator or in the video circuitry. Have you tried hooking the audio output (either speaker or headphone socket) of your Mac to your Dragon and using the Mac as the 'tape' player?

Impressive, but it's extremely processor intensive, my laptop's cooling fan is a constant whine meaning the CPU has stepped up to fastest speed and it's still slower than PC Dragon on a 33 MHz 486!
