Re: Animated Tunes by Orange Software
Rally must be one of the most irritating games in the world. Starts off with some of the best monochrome graphics I've ever seen. But I can't get off the first screen. Typing instructions into it takes an age and the responses flash by in a second. I can't even get that far as it crashes when I pre...

Re: Cool display hack
The accidental isometric 3D effect of the colour version reminds me of A-Train, so it's not just you.sorchard wrote:To me it kind of looks like massively speeded up construction of roads, bridges and curious buildings. Then again I have been staring at these for far too long and may need help

Re: Video flickers
I'm a little hazy on this as it's been a long time since I've looked at it in detail but there are different versions of the main board and PSU/RF board and not all combinations work together. Someone else here may know better. You can swap one Dragon external power transformer with any other, so l...

Re: Text based adventures software
http://www.ifarchive.org/ is down for me. Let's hope that it is a just temporary blip that is resolved soon, in the meantime FTP is still working (ftp://www.ifarchive.org/if-archive/programming/). After some consideration I wonder if using the Scott Adams/Brian Howarth data format is the best means...

Re: Text based adventures software
I know of Windows software (see http://ifarchive.org/indexes/if-archive ... mming.html) but I do not know of anything that will port easily to a Dragon.

Re: Flagon Bird
For some reason (bug?) DEMON always sets bit 2 of $FF03 (IRQ on LO to HI instead of the default IRQ on HI to LO) when the computer is first switched on or cold reset. Enter POKE65283,PEEK(65283)AND253 to clear bit 2 before EXECing the game. Thanks, this works. If it is a bug did Compusense ever cor...

Re: Flagon Bird
The flying brick with a deathwish (my best score is a lowly eight) doesn't like it when a DASM/DEMON cartridge is inserted in the computer. I've verified this on real hardware, as well as with XRoar, so I'm wondering if Flagon Bird uses any of the addresses between $600 and $900, as this is the addr...

Re: XRoar 0.32 released
In the following cases I'm having problems loading cassette programs in the latest version of XRoar (xroar-snap-2014-27552-w32). I've run tests on various non-snap versions (all Win32) to find the last full version where the problem does not occur. 1. If I load a program in one machine profile (say ...

Re: New Dragon 32/64 Software
The game [Knights & Demons] was developed for the Spectrum with nice graphics. The port to Dragon has been done just using the semigraphics-4, painful, to me :-( It's a pity they didn't take the time to learn how to program it with the same graphic quality as the spectrum version .... According to ...
