Re: Chess on the Dragon
The archive contains the following three chess programs. I'm such an inept chess player that I cannot give any recommendation, but it shouldn't be too onerous to try them all. Dragon Data - Cyrus Chess (cas/wav/ROM) J. Morrison Micros - Chess (cas only. Manual available.) Oasis Software - Dragon Che...

Re: All of my Basic games in one zip
It may not be an issue on a real Dragon, I haven't tested Dicewars on one so I cannot be sure, but on a flat laptop keyboard it definitely causes problems.jgerrie wrote:Thanks Alastair. Not so much a problem with the MC-10 chiclet style keys. I'll make that change "official" in my next upload.

Re. DiceWars.
I think the control keys need changing because I keep pressing the Q key when moving the cursor. Indeed, until I made the quick fix below (which makes the zero key the quit game key) I never finished a game!

Re: Switching graphic pages
The trimmer cap to tweak the colour carrier frequency is C32 on D64 boards and C7 on D32 MKII boards. On older boards C7 is just an ordinary capacitor, though it could be replaced by a 2-22pF trimmer. Thanks, goodness knows why I confused a variable resistor with a trimmer cap! Unfortunately on my ...

Re: Switching graphic pages
There is a trimmer capacitor on the main board near the power connector that can be adjusted to reduce the appearance of the patterns but the setting has a tendency to drift with time. It's very sensitive and is best adjusted with a plastic trim tool. A metal screwdriver has enough capacitance to i...

Re: The Main Page is Empty
Alastair, are you sure you are seeing the old contents in View Source, and not just the menus? Yes, clicking on "view source" near the top of the page gives: __NOTOC__ __NOCACHE__ <div align="center"><font size="7"><font color="#cc0000">The </font><font face="Arial Black"><font color="#ff0000" size...

The Main Page is Empty
What has happened to the Main Page? I have tried it with two different browsers and in both cases the contents of the page are missing, this despite "view source" showing that the content still exists.

Re: Totally Lost With Trying To Configure The Joysticks In X
For, er, "forward compatibility", you can actually configure button 1 too, though that's not used for anything right now. Turning this around, could the physical 'button 1' of a joystick be configured to represent a key, e.g., the spacebar, instead of representing a hypothetical second button for a...

DaElectron, to speed things up in XRoar press and hold down the F12 key while you await the game's response.

Re: Animated Tunes by Orange Software
It works with SuperDos E6 on xRoar, which is what I just happened to use for some reason. Thanks, it does not work with DOSplus 5.0 but I have since tried it with DragonDOS 1.0 and it works this version. I have EXITed the CAR (after OPENing the DOOR) and found that you can move around with the arro...
