Re: A C compiler that can compile for dragon 32?
Assuming that I am reading it correctly, the CMOC manual states that without switches CMOC creates CoCo RS-DOS executables. In which case I guess the switches for Bin2Cas should be: ./bin2cas.pl -C main.bin -o main.cas or ./bin2cas.pl -C main.bin -o main.wav Edit. Whilst I was reading the CMOC manua...

Re: Hello all - ex Dragon owner
I had assumed that the gapped format was something to do with the dongle, but with what has been said (by Sarah, Ciaran, and Mark) with regard to other long loading non-dongled games and an ungapped dongled Buzzard Bait, I now have my doubts. Might have played it a lot less had it been a 10 minute l...

Re: Hello all - ex Dragon owner
The only problem I do have with cassettes is on the longer loaders like Cashman and Buzzard Bait..... I haven't looked at Cashman but you can save a lot of time on Buzzard Bait by using a cracked version, which will also save wear-and-tear caused by inserting and removing the dongle every time you ...

Buzzard Bait Cracked - Wave File
Below is a wave file created from the misnamed "Buzzard Bait (1984)(Microdeal)[cr].zip" found in http://archive.worldofdragon.org/archive/index.php?dir=Tapes/Dragon/cas/Microdeal/ it has been tested in XRoar but not yet on a real Dragon. Unlike the other cracks, this version retains the "Tom Mix" lo...

Re: Hello all - ex Dragon owner
More than happy to do emulation for the kids. [...] Anywhere that sells repro analog Dragon joysticks? Have a look at the last ten, or so, minutes of "Original Gamer Stevie Strow's" YouTube video on using XRoar. If you can obtain an original Dragon or CoCo joystick (res. 64x64 if I remember correct...

In that case you may want to try Tormod's RAM Test program.bluearcus wrote:The way the failure occurs makes me think it's a RAM problem.

Bluearcus,
have you tried a disk ROM other than Superdos E6? You never know, it could be the ROM image that is the issue.

Re: Infocom games
Does anyone know how N.D.U.G. created their port of "Hitch Hikers Guide to the Galaxy"?

Re: Infocom games
I've been looking into this and there are some Infocom games available for the CoCo (TRS-80 Colour Computer), a computer that is very similar to the Dragon. So I suspect it may be possible to port the CoCo zmachine interpreter to the Dragon.

Re: Infocom games
Unfortunately Infocom never released any title for the Dragon. At the time there were not enough households with a Dragon plus a disc drive (the disc drives cost more than the computer itself, so only a small percentage of Dragon owners bought a drive) to make the market worthwhile for Infocom. Also...
