Re: Some Joysticks for my Dragon

Hello again! Commodore, I don't know of any one currently selling adapters for a reasonable price - I have found an ebay seller selling a pair of adapters for £44.99 - so below I give links to instructions for creating adapters. These adapters are plug-in adapters so you will not have to take your s...

Re: XRoar Cassette Rewrite.

If you are using MS Windows you can always use the FOR command to automate any instruction - type FOR /? for instructions. In the case of using DC and assuming that all of the .CAS files and DC.EXE are in the same directory, and that you are using a 32-bit version of Windows, then CDing to that dire...

Re: Best way to 'record' an original tape

In addition to all of the advice given above another thing to watch out for is automatic gain. Windows used to have this switched on as a default setting, versions more recent than XP may still have this as the default, you want to switch it off. The link below is to the instructions on how to switc...

Re: Display issue

RV1 the pot just behind the cassette and joystick ports looks very crusty, this could well be the culprit. It would be worth a gentle external clean and then note the position of the pot and give it a rotate back and forth to see if that will clean the contacts enough to improve the output. Hope th...

Information about the ASTEC UM1286 Modulator

I've been trying to find out information about the UM1286 modulator, specifically what each screw adjusts. Today I have finally found that information hidden inside the service manual for the Memotech MTX 500/512, no wonder it took me so long to find! The manual can be found at http://www.primroseba...

Re: Display issue

Have you tried your Dragon on a different TV? We don't want to 'fix' the Dragon if it turns out that the telly is at fault.

You could try the FLEX User Group. There are two addresses, no doubt one is the mirror of the other.

Re: Dragon models

I'm not sure if the 100 and 300 warrant a page each. Perhaps there should be a new page titled "Other Dragons" or "Unconfirmed Dragons" and the 100, 300, and any other mystery Dragon be placed on this page until such time as we have enough information about a model to move it to a separate page. Re: Loading cassettes - IO ERRORs

You could try fast-forwarding and rewinding a tape a few times to see if that helps with the aligning of the tape with the tape head and guides. Otherwise it may well be a case of adjusting volume, tone, and other sound settings to find something that works.
