Re: Help repairing Dragon 64

If you're narrowing the fault to the RAM, you can always try the piggyback trick over the other four ICs, Try this only if they're cold (I guess they're, you must have already checked for HOT chips...). Look for changes in patterns, depending the error you can even find that the machine works :-)

Re: Help repairing Dragon 64

Two common failures I've found in Dragons are broken CPUs and some kind of weird crystalized deposits over a vertical variable resistance.

Both usually causes garbage screens but that green with black border doesn't rings a bell...

Re: replacing the Dragon PSU board

That price is absolutely a killing one for a PSU with negative voltages!. Sadly it doesn't provide the -12V needed by a D64, only is a suitable replacement for a D32...

Re: tape deck

A Cassette deck with EAR & MIC connectors is enough, you don't need the REM one. The cable has a little black jack, this is the REM plug, forget about it. The other two are the EAR and MIC. If you don't have a multimeter there's no easy way to know which one is EAR; so simply try both and try to loa...

Re: Autoboot file

Stoopid me  , problem solved Pere!

I was changing directory to Xroar's one but not copying the disk image to this directory or running it with the full path. The working disk image was in the same directory as Xroar, that's why!

Re: Autoboot file

Hi Pere! DEMODISK.VDK is included in the attachment a couple of post ago. The command worked for me with only one VDK image so I guess it's correct; but I don't now why it refuses to read the other images. All of them work if I insert them using CTRL+1 once Xroar is already running. I'm specially in...

Re: Autoboot file

I'm trying to load the attached DEMODISK.VDK into XRoar and I'm having some strange problems. Using the following command line: xroar -machine dragon64 -extbas d64_1.rom -altbas d64_2.rom -machine-cart dragondos -cart-rom ddos40.rom -force-crc-match -joy-left 0,0:1:0 -kbd-translate -load demodisk.vd...

Re: Autoboot file

Wow, thanks zephyr!, looks like an extremely useful tool! I must explain that I need it to finish a development toolchain. I've plans to cross-develop some programs from Windows, inject the files into a disk image and boot the emulator with it. Using the autoboot feature I can run any program withou...
