Never done it myself, but I reckon there are more things to tweak before you RUN...

And I know a man who has! John Linville wrote this in 2017 - about the CoCo, but should translate readily enough:

Sounds like one of the DragonDOS bugs... I'd recommend either a bug patched DragonDOS version, or at least SuperDOS E6 / DOSplus 4.9.

Dragon 64 PAL VHDL

The Dragon 64 VDG "glue logic" transcribed into VHDL. Xilinx ISE reckons it's ok? And GHDL builds it... It would replace 9 chips if it worked...

Oh, try \r instead - \n will insert character 10 which isn't the Dragon's "Enter" key...
