Re: Core Wars - has anyone got this type-in?

I have got my first core war running on Xroar as I write this. Very impressive when one considers what is going on in the background. I realised that the vdk disk needs a Dos - I am using Dragon Dos 4 rom. I can appreciate the effort you must have put into this all those years ago. Next I'll be taki...

Core Wars - has anyone got this type-in?

Hi, Dragon User Magazine #41 carried an article on Core Wars. There is a Basic programme and a Hex listing. Does anyone have these as cas/asc/bin?
See https://archive.org/stream/dragon-user- ... 5/mode/1up
Thanks

Re: Soundbox by Pam D'Arcy

I found same problem when I tried to assemble the listing a while ago. I notice some differences within the first 16 bytes assembled compared to the hex listing in the article. In the end, I gave up trying to figure it out and typed in the hex listing - it worked. Hopefully the attached XRoar snapsh...

Re: DWLOAD - DriveWire for everybody

Does anyone know whether FLEX can be booted via DWLOAD-Drivewire? It works in XRoar when a DragonDos 1.0 rom sits in XRoar's rom path. On both XRoar configured for DWLOAD-Drivewire and on a real Dragon 64 fitted with the DWLOAD rom, I have tried to use the LROM DWEEB to load the DragonDos rom with a...

Conway's LIFE - my first programme

Season's Greetings to you all. Here is a minimal implementation of Conway's Life inspired by Toni Baker's Z80 version in Mastering Machine Code On Your ZX Spectrum. I post it not because it represents any great technical achievement in comparison to what the very talented people on this forum can do...

Disassembler by Pam D'Arcy

Here is a disassembler by Pam D'Arcy from Dragon User Magazine 26 https://archive.org/stream/dragon-user-magazine-26/DragonUser_26_Jun_1985#page/n13/mode/2up It's in machine code. I've added the print dump modification featured in issue 29 of the magazine: https://archive.org/stream/dragon-user-maga...

Re: Explode routine

I appreciate your suggestions - they've prompted me to have another look. What I find is that when assembling the listing below with ./asm6809.pl -v -D -o produces "cannot find opcode" error for 'end' in line 18, and a little further down with 'reorg'. Commenting these out, asm6809 reports a long li...

Explode routine

Here is a .cas file of an "explode" routine I typed in from p178 of the book "Dragon Machine Language For The Absolute Beginner", John Vander Reyden, 1983. See Dragon archive http://archive.worldofdragon.org/archive/index.php?dir=Books/&file=DragonMachineLanguage.zip . Tested on Xroar using CLOADM (...
