No, you can't. Mask programmable ROMs are programmed during manufacturing. PROMs can be programmed once with a programmer. EPROMS can be programmed and subsequently erased using UV light. EEPROMS can be programmed and erased electrically.

Re: EPROM Programming Shopping List
I would really like to buy the GQ-4X, but I want to be sure that its capable of programming all of the EPROMs mentioned in my previous posts. How does this programmer get its 25 volt supply (USB port is only 5v). Would I need to buy a third party 25v power supply? I don't know this programmer from ...

Re: State of the art of Dragon software preservation
Good initiative, although I believe that the situation is a bit "greener" than this spreadsheet indicates, especially with respect to the dumps. Anyway, a good indication that there is some tidying up to be done for most software packages. Might be an idea to redo the spreadsheet as a wiki page so t...

Re: XRoar 0.28 available
I've switched my Dragon programming to Windows (from the Dragon) and using Xroar to run everything so something like a memory view from a paused emulation state would be super handy for me. Agreed. I've done the same thing, switched all Dragon work not actually requiring a physical Dragon to Window...

Re: XRoar 0.28 available
Xroar already supports features for creating a memory dump and loading dumps back into the emulator. Maybe you can use that?

Re: Dismantling a Dragon 32 Cartridge?
I have always used a box cutter, extending the blade quite far, and just cut the two "bolts" when doing things like this. Leaves no visible marks on the outside of the cartridge case, and you can always glue it together later if you really want to.

Re: Pirate Adventure - Scott Adams
Rob, You can temporarily download the WAV file from this location . The archive also contains my attempt at creating a CAS file, which loads fine under xroar but only with the -fast-tape option enabled (default). xroar is unable to load the WAV file directly. I haven't yet had the time to look into ...

Re: Pirate Adventure - Scott Adams
Unfortunately, no luck with producing a clean dump of this game from the cassette that I have. Seems like the recording is pretty weak, but I'll give it another shot when I have more time available. I guess this isn't too urgent since working copies already exists in the archive. In the meantime, I ...
