Re: Junior's Revenge by Dragon Data

Hello, It seems to be the same here. One of the version seems to load/crash in a strange way: After a couple of seconds, 'OK' is displayed, but 'F' keeps flashing on the screen and loading never gets anywhere. I also tried to load the version from my 'ARCAD05A.vdk' disk into XRoar . The game won't c...

Re: Explode routine

... I could not understand the use of some ORG directives which seem specific to the assembler the author used. Hello, Could you please explain the above statement?! To me, 'ORG' was quite a straightforward instruction aimed at the compiler (i.e. ORG addr = code to be generated as if starting from ...

Re: Hello, New here !

Hello John, and welcome to this forum! Yes, people often treasure such memories as their first computer, especially when they had it as youngsters - like I believe most of us here did. Some members here have a knowledge that is actually difficult to summarize! And on top of that, they are always wil...

Re: Vectrex, another 6809 machine

Hello, I do remember the Vectrex game console, but never actually had one. It was famous for providing super smooth vector graphics that were reported very similar to some arcade machines. The "wire frame" kind of graphics for its games made it quite a curiosity then. I think the high price (both co...

Re: How to read a file from disc, just one byte at a time

Hello, The standard Dragon ROM does have some routines to read single bytes or bits from tape. There is some sample code about achieving this in section 8.4.4 of 'Inside The Dragon'. So I'd say it's likely there are similar features in DragonDOS. Unfortunately, not having any disassembled DragonDOS ...

Re: Comparison of Dragon Assemblers?

I cannot get the N.D.U.G. Forth .vdk version to load at all - presumably needs some sort of Dos loaded first. Hello, ... What do you mean here?! If you are going to use a '.vdk' file, then it is a disk image and you thus need DOS loaded first if you really intend to use it! I myself spent a little ...

Re: Rebound from Your Computer magazine

Using logical expressions evaluation was quite a common thing, even in the early 80's! For instance, when checking the general directions from joysticks in order to determine the new relative position of any object on screen. IF A THEN... (where 'A' may actually be any variable or boolean expression...

Quite nice already (rendering times excepted, of course).

Have you got any plans to implement the rendering of Markus-Lyapunov fractals now, then?!
