got it working!!
I just had to create a copy of the dragon64.zip file and rename it to dragon64h.zip
Now I can look at the code with lots of 6309 opcodes well disassembled

How do you tell MAME that it should accept the 6309 opcodes?
Inside the dragon64.zip there are only three ROMs, two for Basic and one for DOS
But I see no place to state the fact that you would code for the 6309 CPU
