Re: Tandy Multipak and the Dragon

Hi Philippe, I hope someone with better/more accurate information could give you the correct answer. For what I have heard about the MPI update for the CoCo3, it is done to avoid conflicts with some CoCo3 internally used addresses But concerning our Dragons, I think the problem should not happen ......

Re: A DOSPlus Extender for Drivewire & CoCo-SDC

Hello, I have modified the DosPlus5.0 extended so that it is compatible with Ed Snider's mega-mini-MPI (4 slots) This version incorporates two features programmed by Mike Miller, one of them allows the DP50 to show, in commands SDRIVE and SDIR, files longer than 1Mb by changing the display view so t...

Re: A DOSPlus Extender for Drivewire & CoCo-SDC

Hello, I forgot to say in my previous comment that the *only* way to use SDC and floppies at the same time on the Dragon is to ensure that both slots have the very *same* Operating System. There are two ways to do that: - we might change the EEPROM on the floppy controller and put inside a copy of D...

Re: A DOSPlus Extender for Drivewire & CoCo-SDC

does DosPlusExtender allow you to work simultaneously with physical floppies and CocoSDC on a Dragon 32? Hello, the DOSPlus5.0 extended has a few subroutines that verify for the presence of SDC and FDC too and saves the status in two variables: - hdwFlow has the slot where the floppies have been fo...

Re: A DOSPlus Extender for Drivewire & CoCo-SDC

I plan to scan my Race Electronics manual for upload to the archive, but basically : whereas 4 bits are used in address $FF7F for the MPI (2 bits for SCS , 2 bits for CTS), for Race, you just POKE 0, 1, 2 or 3 to $FEFF - and no info can be read from that address oops, this hurst! The only way to ov...

Re: A DOSPlus Extender for Drivewire & CoCo-SDC

Pere: I'm afraid values to be POKEd in FF7F are not the same as FFEF (see https://www.lomont.org/software/misc/coco/Lomont_CoCoHardware.pdf, p.59) And there are a couple of LD and CMP that need to be taken care of. Not the end of the world obviously... when I get my hands on a working Dragon :-( He...

Re: A DOSPlus Extender for Drivewire & CoCo-SDC

I guess you could get round the problem with not knowing the current slot by presuming that the SDC is always in slot 0, the FDC is always in slot 1, etc? Or is it not that simple? Cheers, Tony Hello Tony! the DosPlus uses the standard Tandy $FF7F address as slot switch, so POKEing there a value 0-...

Re: A DOSPlus Extender for Drivewire & CoCo-SDC

Pere, you wondered if you are the only Dragon user with physical floppies, a CocoSDC and a MultiPak. Maybe you are but I will receive my CocoSDC soon and I do have a Race-electronics kind of Multipak for the Dragon ( http://worldofdragon.org/index.php?title=RACE_Computer_Expansion_Cage ). When I ge...

Re: DRAM data retention time

Oh, ok! I was mostly just mucking about, seeing what sort of thing worked if I wanted to potentially make a whole replacement motherboard. That's a long way off though, and PCB places tend to have a minimum order, so if the 512K revision works, I'll be sure to let you know. thanks a lot! I am prett...

Re: DRAM data retention time

a great job, congrats! These are really great news, Ciaran I would really like to add an internal 512Kb RAM expansion to my Dragon-MSX2+ That will be the icing on the cake!! I asume that it will go in the SAM socket and the SAM will go on the new module, right? You can put me down for one thanks in ...
