Re: A DOSPlus Extender for Drivewire & CoCo-SDC
Hi, it is a bit tangled ... So, I will explain step by step what I do everytime I post an update ... First I am going to show you the utility files I use to get all the needed files with asm6809. This toolchain began very thin and has ended up with more files that expected :-( I compile from the com...

Re: A DOSPlus Extender for Drivewire & CoCo-SDC
Hello, I couldn't resist the 'challenge', it seemed really easy as I said in my last message. I have added a bit of code (some 12+1 bytes) and now the extended DP50 tries to boot the disk at drive 1. If it isn't bootable, it skips this task and shows the intro message as usual, but if it is bootable...

Re: A DOSPlus Extender for Drivewire & CoCo-SDC
Hi Tony In fact if you have the 'modified' Dragon ROM that contains the DLOAD for drivewire, there are the input/output routines too else nothing would work! In fact when the ROM starts, it runs a small code that checks if the Shift Key is pressed to start normally. If that key is NOT pressed, then ...

Re: Feasibility Experiment
Hi, I have uploadded the version I found in an old C60 tape, recorded back in the 80's (backup compilation). It seems to be just the program, not the whole tape, but that's just what I have found, sorry :-( As I didn't find it among the CAS - WAV files in the archive I thought it was worth uploading...

Re: Feasibility Experiment
Hi, a few months ago, I had to put as many ORC files inside VDK virtual disks as possible. ORC files are scores for Orchestra90-CC. I used the program "DragonDos" created by Rolf Michelsen. It works on a DOS windows and accepts being called from a bat file, so for that case I used this one: for %%a ...

Re: Feasibility Experiment
you are right, Lionel I was thinking more for players use than for preservation purposes. We should preserve, if possible, the original with all of its parts. It doesn't seem an easy task to extract the needed files for each program/game and save them into a new VDK file, despite most of them will b...

Re: Feasibility Experiment
Hi, thanks for remembering me that! I had dowloaded your VDK files long time ago, but I forgot to have a look at all the 'pack' disks I have, just searched among the CAS and WAV files ... cheers pere Ps It is going to be a lot of work, but it would be nice to have every game in an individual VDK fil...

Re: A DOSPlus Extender for Drivewire & CoCo-SDC
Hi Tony, I have created a bootable disk with a simple basic program and changed the file "STARTUP.CFG" to contain this line: 0=AUTOBOOT.VDK" Being this the name I have given to the bootable disk. When I start the Dragon with the SDC I get the intro message and the OK so I must write BOOT and then th...

Re: A DOSPlus Extender for Drivewire & CoCo-SDC
Hi Tony, I may be wrong, but I think that the only way will be having a disc with the 'starting' program in the boot sector. Anyway, having the CoCo-SDC connected and drive1 containing such a bootable disk, I am afraid that you will have to write BOOT anyway ... to start that program I have never te...
