Re: My Dragon cartridge boards (actually work!!!)

Actually... looking at it now, I think iTead might have undercharged me (sent out a lot more boards than quoted) for the PCBs. They're like a few mil over the maximum width so maybe they took pity on me. :D

As I said, great company.

Re: My Dragon cartridge boards (actually work!!!)

This is a very interesting little project. 8-) I would like to ask you a few very simple (non-technical) questions. Thanks mate. (1) I know it was your own design, but exactly how much did it cost you for the PCB? They came in at a truly horrendous £4.30 each (excluding any shipping costs + tax). T...

Re: My Dragon cartridge boards (actually work!!!)

So how are you reading the EEPROM as a matter of interest ? The super lazy way... From memory (Cartridge -> ROM): !CTS (pin 32) is connected to the ROM's chip enable. R/!W (pin 18) is connected via the jumper to Write Enable. R/!W (pin 18) is connected through a NAND gate (wired to invert) to Outpu...

Yep. I don't know anything about CoCos but the Dragon definitely does.

Re: Schematics of Dragon Cartridges?

Sorry about the delay guys; my PC's power supply has gone pop and I can't get at any of the software I use for electronics and schematics etc. :(

If no one has drawn something by the time I get a replacement, i'll happily do the job.

Re: My Dragon cartridge boards (actually work!!!)

Cheers mate. I love the black PCB with the Dragon Data logo and the skull and crossbones, hehe  Yeah, those black PCBs are just sick. I love them to bits although I've seen red PCBs recently which look great too. Fritzing do them in white, and OSH Park even do purple ones... There's really ...

My Dragon cartridge boards (actually work!!!)

Thought I'd post this just because I got a project finished and they work!!! That's pretty rare for me at the minute. :) I have another Dragon project on the go, and these were kind of a spin off from that. Here we have a simple Dragon 32 cartridge board which accepts either a 28 series eeprom or a ...

Re: Schematics of Dragon Cartridges?

Yeah, maybe this would be a good idea. This is the Dragon archive, so it does make sense to store all the information one can get about computer and peripherals. The description of the cartridges is not complete yet. So, if you don't mind, please do tell us. Got tied up but I'll definitely get some...

Re: Schematics of Dragon Cartridges?

Yes, I saw the scans, but some connections are hidden by the NAND (Pin 11, Pin 1, the two inputs 4 and 12 seem to be connected, but I cannot see, what's fed in). I own no cartridge, so I can't simply make some measurements. If you want, I'll put a meter on the Dragon Chess board tonight and see wha...
