Cheers guys, I'll have a play with those.
Out of curiosity, does anyone know if any of the other Microsoft licensed BASIC interpreters have a shift function? I guess they thought no one would need it.

Re: My Dragon cartridge boards (actually work!!!)
Nice one Rob. When I get home, I'll get the measurements from mine just in case it helps you Tormod.
Edit: from checking my orders, it is a 1.6mm
PCB thickness I'm using. Which I suspect means the other manufacturer I originally used must had a default a little thinner than that.

Re: My Dragon cartridge boards (actually work!!!)
You're exactly right mate - the cartridge connector on the Dragons is bong-eyed. :) First time around, I didn't realise that. I made an edge connector breakout board a while ago and it made a very poor connection in the socket. Not necessarily the wrong pins being connected - just some pins not seem...

Re: Shift or Rotate from Dragon BASIC
Well, got something working using a simple divide by two and breaking the byte up into an array. It seems the power function (which I used originally so I could pull one bit out of the middle) does something weird to the number's representation. It'll do until I can be bothered to write proper machi...

Shift or Rotate from Dragon BASIC
I might be being really dumb here, but is there no way to perform a right shift (or a rotate) from Dragon BASIC? Tried to do something by dividing by 2 but it doesn't always work - something to do with precision maybe. I find it hard to believe the entire function was missed out but I can't find any...

I/O Cartridge (Show and Tell)
Work on a couple of projects hit a stumbling block when my breakout cartridge + breadboard combo proved a little unreliable. So I transplanted some of the logic being tested onto a new board and recently received the PCBs from China. Surprisingly, they work. :D http://24.media.tumblr.com/c7b71076be6...

Re: Retrospectiva Competition
Congratulations!
Are they definitely doing it next year? I had intended to enter this time around but time got away with me - maybe I should make a start now.![Smile :)](./images/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif)

Phew. I haven't had time to vote yet so am very pleased to hear about the extension.
Good luck mate.

Re: HxC SD Floppy Emulator
Back in the day we paid more for real floppy drives. That's true. :D The price is somewhat higher than the prices of multicarts for other systems (Harmony, Atari Age carts ...), Oh I dunno - I've seen a fair few multicarts etc. approaching (even exceeding) that sort of money. But yeah, if you need ...

Re: HxC SD Floppy Emulator
Cool!
I have a design for one but really wasn't looking forward to getting it working and having to write all the supporting code. Would much rather put my support/enthusiasm behind someone else's efforts on this one.![Very Happy :D](./images/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif)
