Re: Serial Numbers

Oh that's useful! A question I get asked quite often, well done for working it out :)

Dragon MMU solutions ...

Hi all! There was much talk of MMUs at this year's Meetup (a particularly good one I thought this year!), so I was wondering if someone might take a stab at summarising the different options in a way that even simple people like me could understand. The options I can see if you want to go beyond 64K...

Re: Dragon Meetup - 28th / 29th March

Well, it's just over a week until the Meetup, so I thought I'd post some logistics I've allocated tables to Richard Harding, Phill Harvey-Smith, Roy Templeman, Binary Dinosaurs, John Newcombe, Julian Ellison, Stephen Mitchell, Mike Miller, John Whitworth, Ciaran Anscomb and myself. Have I missed any...

Quick assembly question ...

I'm trying to compile some old code of Roy Coates to control a Dragon Claw, and I'm not sure what assembler he was using. I'm seeing lines like this:

LDB 0,X+

Is that the same as:

LDB ,X+

I think it is ... but I'd like to double check before I search and replace this whole file!

Cheers, Tony

Dragon Meetup - 28th / 29th March

Just making an official announcement - the Meetup is going ahead, we have the classroom at the Centre for Computing History in Cambridge and it looks like most of the old gang will be there (and some new faces too!). If you're coming, please let me know in the replies so I have a feel for numbers an...

Re: Dragon Meetup - Spring 2026!

Yes, we have an official date - and a change of location, this time back to the Center for Computing History, who are very happy to have us back (the MoT had a steam day and a bunch of other events that was making things complicated). Book your hotels - I'll see you there!

Re: Flagon Bird

Ah, good to know it wasn't just some mad coincidence that meant this young lad always died when he got to 64! Especially confusing as I could remember seeing Rob's video and a score way beyond that. Looking forward to seeing a new version! I had the game on display again this weekend - Christmas lig...

Re: Flagon Bird

Interesting. I''l need to check the src to see if I capped the score at 64 - Flagon Lord, on the later version. As Rob says, it was certainly possible to go higher on the first version. I suspect you imagined no one would ever go over 64 - but then along came this kid who did it three times! And it...

Re: Flagon Bird

Time to wake this thread up again - Flagon Bird, as well as Paul Shoemaker's games, have been very popular at this weekend's Retro Computer Festival in Cambridge. But I have a question for Steve - is the highest possible score 64? We had a young lad who THREE times (to everyone's astonishment) got t...
